Situated in the Pallars Jussà (Catalan Pyreenes), the winery wants to be a leader in the production of quality wines.
In Mas Garcia Muret we have the professionals and the infrastructure which allow us to produce quality wines with a perfect balance between modernity and tradition.
Our filosofy is based on working exclusively our grape, quality, passion, care for the details, sustainability and terroir.
All our grape harvest is used exclusively to produce our wines. In this way, we can ensure that our wines impart the special geography, geology and climate from our land.
Throughout the entire process, since the moment we choose the variety of grape until we deliver it to the final consumer, we make sure that everything is done in the most appropiate way, in order to guarantee a high quality product.
The passion for the wine-making and the wineyards has always belonged to our history.
We take care of the vineyards throughout the year, we harvest the grapes at their peak of ripeness, we try to preserve the properties of each variety of grape, we choose the proper temperature for each stage of the process... everything counts to get a unique and extraordinary wine.
Our raw material comes from the Earth and this is why we treat it with the respect it deserves. All our facilities and machinery are integrated into the environment.

Thanks to the book "Llibre de Notas" from Bonaventrua Jaya, which was found inside the Mas Garcia Muret, we know that there were vineyards and root stocks around the country house already in the eighteenth century.
The country house and the chapel, built in 1756, remain as the witnesses of Bonaventura Jaya's life, which is explained in the writings found in "Llibre de Notas":
"(...) The 14th day of the month of January in 1749 (...) the sales act was signed (...) in favour of RNT (...) from the village of Limiana and all the part of land planted with vineyards and olive trees called (...) "p 119.
"(...) Foundation of 71. Mass in the chapel of the country house of Pere Jaya, as he is the beneficiary of the Rnt comunity from the village of Llimiana in the year 1771. (...) Eleventh day of June of the year of the Nativity of the Lord, one thousand seven hundred and seventy one in the village of Llimiana from Urgell's Diocese (...) "p 133.
Dr. José Luis García Ubis arrived to the village of Llimiana from Logroño, in La Rioja, with his parents.
His father was the teacher of the village for eighteen years, and José Luis grew up in the land of Pallars Jussà, learning how to love and appreciate the landscape and environment.
Later, he decided to study medicine in Barcelona and had to move there, but he never forgot the place where he grew up.
Shortly after marrying, José Luis noticed that the old country house of Parejaya was for sale and, excited with the idea of settling in Pallars, he decided to buy it along with the remains of the chapel of Mare de Déu del Roser.
The house, which dates from 1756, consisted of a two-floors building and a stable, installation of running water and, the most important, three barrels with a capacity of 4,000 liters each in a cellar built in 1890.
The chapel, which had been founded by the vicar of the village around 1760, was in very poor conditions, and the land sorrounding the cellar had more olive tres, almond trees, oat and wheat than vineyards.
As the family grew, so did the house, which José Luis repaired an enlarged with great effort and enthusiasm. He also restored the chapel and continued to cultivate the crops, without forgeting his career in the world of medicine. Despite his obligations he was often visiting Masos de Limiana, so his children could learn how to love this land as much as him.
However, he did not forget his origins in La Rioja nor the winemakers tradition of his family, so in 1990 he decided to plant a small vineyard to Cabernet Sauvignon.
From the moment he planted the first vineyard in Cabernet Sauvignon, José Luis realized he couldn't give up his dream of building a cellar and, little by little, he enlarged the cultivation of grapevines. Since 1990 he introduced the variety of Cabernet Sauvignon with very good results, and later on they added Merlot, Tempranillo, Syrah and Pinot Noir in this order for the red wine and Chardonnay, white Grenache, Sauvignon, Muscat and "Albariño" for the white wine.
But the first 13 hectares wrere soon too small, and in 2011 there were already 19 used exclusively for the cultivation of vinegrapes.
However, until then, all the harvest had been sold to other major wine producers, like Torres, but in 2010 the construction of the winery Mas Garcia Muret started and in 2011 they began to prodruce their own wines: UNUA2011 and MURIAC2011.
With two wines already awarded in the market and a growing production, 2013 is the year of ratification of Mas Garcia Muret as a producer of high quality wines. The grape has grown from 40,000 kg to 100,000 kg of grapes, which turn into more than 70,000 liters of wine (white, red, rosé, table wine and sacramental wine). The winery continues growing and the project of planting 18,000 root stocks more of Syrah and Pinôt Noire has already started at 2014, which will mean to add almost 5 hectares to the 19 which are currently used.
